Amber Gunter Conducts Spring Soil Sampling Across Tennessee

This spring, Master’s student Amber Gunter conducted soil sampling in grazing systems across the Southern Appalachian Ridges and Valleys of East Tennessee, as well as in corn–soybean systems in the Highland Rim and Pennyroyal region of Middle Tennessee. These efforts are part of her research to better understand how management practices influence soil health across key agricultural landscapes in the state.

We are grateful to the producers who generously allowed sampling on their land and to our undergraduate assistant McKenzie Powell for her support in the field. This project is supported by the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, and we are proud of Amber’s dedication to applied, producer-focused research.
